Paula Horn was born on February 8, 1968, in Marrero, Louisiana, to Reverend Jack E. Wells Sr. and Mary Wells, both natives of New Orleans. Ministry was woven into Paula's life from her earliest years. Her father served as a full-time traveling evangelist until she was twelve years old and was especially known for ministering in the gifts of prophecy and healing. When Reverend Wells accepted a pastorate in Franklin, Louisiana, the family came off the evangelistic field.

Paula began serving in ministry while still young. As a teenager, she taught Sunday School and Children's Church alongside her mother. She began singing harmony with her family's gospel group as far back as she can remember and taught herself to play the piano by ear at eight years old. These early experiences laid the foundation for her lifelong calling in music, teaching, and ministry.

Following years of rejection and deep hurt from people she should have been able to trust, Paula made two serious attempts to take her own life, first at sixteen and again at eighteen. She survived both attempts and firmly believes that God preserved her life for a purpose, even before she was ready to surrender to that purpose.

At seventeen, Paula became a prodigal, left home, and began running from God and from the calling she knew was upon her life. At eighteen, she moved to the Midwest, where she remained for approximately twelve years. During that season, she experienced homelessness, domestic violence, broken and abusive relationships, an unplanned pregnancy, single parenthood, and many painful struggles.

After leaving an abusive relationship, Paula later became engaged to another man. Through members of his family, she was introduced to the Wiccan religion and eventually became deeply involved in it. Her life also became centered on secular music and the radio industry, where she worked in the business department of a Milwaukee-area radio station for approximately six years. Then, without warning, her fiancé, a self-proclaimed warlock, abandoned her, leaving only a note beside the bed. This was another act of abandonment that she would have to overcome. Paula believes the prayers of her family placed the protection of the Lord's angels around her and spared her from making a marriage covenant with evil.

Following the painful end of that relationship in 1999, Paula began turning her heart back toward the Lord. She testifies that God used the loss to rescue her from the life and spiritual bondage in which she had become trapped and delivered her from the spirit of witchcraft. What appeared to be another devastating loss became a doorway to freedom and restoration. She eventually reached the place where, as she describes it, "When you are at the bottom, the only direction left to look is up."

In 2000, Paula returned home to Louisiana and very soon began serving at Bethany World Prayer Center in Baton Rouge. She completed Bethany's Leadership Program and taught a Sunday School class of twenty-two second-grade children during the Saturday evening services. She later taught teenagers in the same Leadership Program from which she had graduated. Paula also served and sang in the choir under Pastor Jonathan Stockstill's worship ministry.

After serving at Bethany until 2004, Paula entered another difficult season. Painful circumstances in another failed marriage—including her spouse's pornography addiction, dishonesty, infidelity, and emotional abuse—contributed to nearly three years of backsliding.

During that time, Paula worked multiple jobs, including bartending and bookkeeping, while continuing in her regular position as business office manager for a prominent Baton Rouge builder and land developer. During that season, she once again found herself distant from God.

After losing her mother in 2005, Paula continued running from the calling on her life. Yet, in His mercy, God began redirecting her steps. Through hearing the worship song "The More I Seek You" by Kari Jobe, which was suggested to her by her eldest sister, Pam, Paula was drawn back into God's throne room by His Holy Spirit, where she laid it all down at His feet and has not looked back since.

Soon after rededicating her life to the Lord, Paula met Sam through a Christian dating site. They were married on November 4, 2007, in a small Baptist church in Reed Springs, Missouri. Their wedding ceremony was performed following a Sunday service by Bro. Billy Hale, who was then president of the Country Gospel Music Association.

Paula had resigned from her career several months earlier and joined Sam in full-time country gospel music ministry, traveling with the country gospel music group "Desert Reign." Within the next several months, the Lord began dealing with Sam about changing directions. After seeking the Lord together, they came off the road and made their home in Galena, Missouri, where Sam worked for a season at Kanakuk Kamps, a Christian children's camp in Branson.

In 2008, Sam and Paula were ordained as a ministry couple through Outreach Ministries of Nevada under the leadership of Aaron Fielder and Buddy Banks. Paula completed Bible coursework through Patriot Bible University, and both Sam and Paula received ordination as music ministers through the Country Gospel Music Association.

Sam and Paula moved to Louisiana in 2009. The following year, Paula was diagnosed with lupus and endured years of chemotherapy treatments, medications, and medical care. She spent the next twelve years in a state of deep depression, trapped by thoughts that kept her bound to the pain of her past. She testifies that she has since received complete healing from these old wounds and has learned new coping skills that she desires to share in order to help others find freedom from this mindset of bondage. Her experiences with childhood trauma, abuse, homelessness, abandonment, spiritual bondage, chronic illness, and restoration have given her a deep compassion for people who are hurting, discouraged, or struggling to find their way back to God.

Paula and Sam later helped establish a cowboy church at a ranch in Gloster, Mississippi. They served as song-service leaders and assistant pastors, and Paula also served as the ministry's treasurer. When serious concerns arose regarding the stewardship of ministry funds, they stepped away rather than compromise their convictions.

Within days, God opened another place for them to serve at an RV park seeking pastoral leadership for its cowboy church. Sam served as pastor, and together they conducted Sunday services for approximately seven months. They continued serving there until purchasing the thirty-three-acre property where they now live in Gloster, Mississippi, in April 2018.

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sam and Paula assumed the care of Paula's then eleven-year-old grandson while their daughter was walking through a difficult chapter of her own testimony. He came to them approximately four grade levels behind academically and struggling with anger, dependence on electronic devices, a lack of motivation, and difficulty communicating with others.

Paula homeschooled him for a portion of that time and helped him overcome his academic delays, while Sam taught him practical skills, personal responsibility, and the value of hard work. Together, they provided structure, discipline, encouragement, firm boundaries, Christian guidance, and tough love.

During his time with Sam and Paula, he became involved with the youth group at the local Church of God of Prophecy and gave his life to Jesus Christ. His relationship with his mother was eventually restored, allowing him to return home to her.

Today, he has graduated from high school at only sixteen years old, has a job, and attends Pastor Duke Chance's church with his mother, her husband, and two of his brothers. Sam and Paula consider his transformation and the restoration of their family to be a testimony of what God can accomplish through prayer, consistency, firm boundaries, unconditional love, and a willingness to stand in the gap for someone in need.

Since moving to their Mississippi property, Paula has organized ministry gatherings, gospel events, community vendor fairs, and outreach activities. She and Sam are also working toward renovating their fifty-by-fifty-foot metal building into a Christian movie theater, retreat center, and ministry event venue.

Through His Reflection Ministries, Sam and Paula write and sing original country gospel music carrying a message of hope and restoration. Their ministry has a special concern for people facing depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, broken relationships, spiritual struggles, and other difficult circumstances.

Paula's life is a testimony that the calling of God is not canceled by failure, hardship, illness, spiritual bondage, or years spent running. She knows firsthand that God can reach into the darkest and most broken places, bring deliverance, restore what has been lost, and use every surrendered chapter for His glory.

Today, Paula steps forward to partner with her husband of almost nineteen years to write and sing songs that bring hope and healing to those who need Him. She does so with humility, gratitude, and a sincere desire to love, serve, and help save God's people from the heaviness of their past and present mindsets through deliverance and healing in the mighty name of Jesus!
